The FRIEDRICH fphfr48a3d is a 48,000 BTU/h remote heat pump condenser designed for ductless mini-split installations. It operates on 208-230 volt single-phase 60 Hz power and uses R454B refrigerant, an A2L low-GWP refrigerant. An A2L refrigerant sensor is included with the unit. Precision Inverter technology drives a variable-speed compressor for efficient capacity modulation across a wide range of load conditions. The unit carries ENERGY STAR and ENERGY STAR Cold Climate Heat Pump certification. Licensed HVAC technicians install this condenser as part of a wall-mounted ductless split system in residential or light commercial applications.
The fphfr48a3d is built for cold-climate performance, delivering 100 percent of rated capacity at 5 degrees F ambient. The FastPro design provides fast access to internal components for routine maintenance and service. A BLDC motor, soft-start compressor, and ultra-quiet operation make it well suited for noise-sensitive residential installations where consistent heating and cooling performance across extreme ambient temperatures is required. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity supports remote monitoring and control. A wireless remote control is included for local operation.
Designed for use as the outdoor condenser unit in a FRIEDRICH Breeze Premier wall-mounted ductless mini-split system requiring a 48,000 BTU/h remote heat pump condenser.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding EPA Section 608 certification, as R454B is an A2L mildly flammable refrigerant subject to specific handling and installation requirements. Power down all associated electrical circuits before making any connections. Consult applicable local codes and manufacturer guidelines regarding A2L refrigerant installation clearances, leak detection sensor placement, and ventilation requirements. Do not commission the system without verifying the included A2L sensor is properly installed and functional.
