The FRIEDRICH 67401299 is an electronic expansion valve (EXV) designed as a precision refrigerant metering component in variable-capacity refrigeration and HVAC systems. The EXV modulates refrigerant flow to the evaporator coil in response to electronic control signals, replacing traditional thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) technology with stepper-motor-driven precision. This part is installed by licensed HVAC technicians during system commissioning, refrigerant circuit repair, or component replacement service on compatible Friedrich equipment.
This electronic expansion valve is specified for use in Friedrich PTAC and unitary equipment where variable refrigerant metering is required for proper system efficiency and capacity control. The valve is matched to the refrigerant circuit design of the compatible models listed below and should not be substituted with generic EXV assemblies without verifying electrical connector pinout and refrigerant compatibility. Compatible models include WFPU17Z603C and WFPU18Z483C.
Designed for use with Friedrich models WFPU17Z603C and WFPU18Z483C.
Installation of an electronic expansion valve should be performed by an EPA 608-certified HVAC technician. Recover all refrigerant from the system before opening the refrigerant circuit. After installation, the system will require leak testing, evacuation, and recharge to manufacturer specifications before restart. Verify that the EXV electrical connector is fully seated and that the control board recognizes the valve before returning the system to service.
