The FREUD FB-007 is a 1-inch Forstner bit from the Diablo Series, manufactured from high speed steel for clean, precise boring in wood and most wood-based products. The sharp center spur locates the center of the hole before the cutting edge engages, reducing drift and improving accuracy. Designed for drilling flat-bottom holes, pocket holes, and overlapping holes, this bit is suited for cabinetry work, furniture fabrication, shelf pin drilling, and general woodworking applications where a clean entry and a flat-bottomed cavity are required. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 3/8-inch shank, it fits standard drill chucks and drill presses.
The FB-007 is appropriate for use in residential and light commercial woodworking environments. It is commonly installed by cabinetmakers, finish carpenters, and general contractors working with solid wood, plywood, MDF, particleboard, and similar engineered wood panels. The 1-inch cut diameter is a standard size for shelf pin holes, concealed hinge cups, and dowel recesses. The 3/8-inch shank accommodates most handheld drills and benchtop drill presses without requiring a special adapter.
Designed as a standard Forstner-style replacement or addition for any drill or drill press accepting a 3/8-inch round shank bit, for use in wood and most wood-based panel products.
Installation and use of this bit is performed by carpenters, cabinetmakers, and woodworking trades. Always secure the workpiece firmly before drilling to prevent rotation or movement. When using on a handheld drill, start at a slow speed to allow the center spur to seat before increasing RPM. Do not use this bit on metal, masonry, or materials it is not rated for, as this will damage the cutting edges.
