The FREUD DSP1010 Speed Demon spade bit is a high-performance wood-boring tool engineered for fast, clean hole drilling in cordless and corded drill drivers and impact drivers. The self-feeding speed-tip design pulls the bit into the material without forcing, reducing operator effort and improving drilling speed compared to traditional spade bits. An optimized curved paddle design accelerates chip evacuation, keeping the flutes clear and extending the number of holes achievable per battery charge. The shank is impact-rated for increased stability and durability under the higher torque output of modern cordless impact drivers. Each pack contains 5 bits at 3/8 inches diameter and 4 inches length.
This spade bit is suited for residential and light commercial rough-in work where plumbers, electricians, and general contractors need to bore through wood framing, joists, and studs quickly. The 4-inch length provides adequate reach for standard framing applications without requiring an extension. The 3/8-inch diameter is a common bore size for low-voltage cable, conduit, and small-diameter pipe rough-in runs. The impact-rated shank makes this bit compatible with both traditional drill drivers and impact drivers commonly used on the job site.
Designed for use in standard cordless and corded drill drivers and impact drivers accepting a hex or standard round shank spade bit. Intended for drilling in wood and wood-based materials.
Installation of this bit is performed by electricians, plumbers, and carpenters during rough-in framing stages. Secure the bit firmly in the chuck before use and confirm the driver is set to the appropriate torque or impact mode for wood boring. Always wear eye protection when drilling, as spade bits eject chips at high velocity. Follow applicable NEC or IPC clearance requirements when boring near structural members.
