The split point tip is ground to 132 degrees, allowing the bit to start on point without wandering, which directly reduces drill-out and material distortion. The precision-ground steps reduce friction at each cutting edge, delivering up to 2x faster cuts compared to standard step bits. A 1/4-inch hex shank makes it compatible with both drills and impact drivers, including cordless tools running in high-speed mode.
This step drill bit is suited for electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and general contractors who regularly drill knockout holes in sheet metal panels, electrical enclosures, junction boxes, conduit plates, and thin plastic materials. The impact-ready hex shank design means it transitions directly from a standard drill chuck to an impact driver collet without an adapter.
