The FREUD DHS2563CT is a 2-9/16 inch carbide-tipped hole saw designed for tradespeople who need reliable performance across wood and metal applications. The carbide tip construction delivers longer cutting life compared to standard bi-metal hole saws, reducing blade changes on the job. A 2-3/8 inch cutting depth allows 40 percent deeper holes in a single pass, which increases throughput on repetitive drilling tasks. The variable tooth design promotes faster material removal with less binding. This saw is suited for electricians, plumbers, HVAC installers, and general contractors working in demanding field conditions.
The DHS2563CT is rated for use on wood, nail-embedded wood, plastic, aluminum, metal, cast iron, and stainless steel, making it a versatile choice for both rough-in and finish work. The Snap Lock Plus mandrel system allows tool-free bit changes without downtime. The package includes the hole saw, a mandrel, a pilot bit, a 5/8 inch threaded adapter fitting diameters 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches, and a 1/2 inch threaded adapter fitting diameters 9/16 inches to 3-1/16 inches. The included mandrel is compatible with all Diablo carbide and bi-metal hole saws ranging from 5/8 inches to 6 inches in diameter, so existing mandrels carry over across the product line.
The included mandrel fits all Diablo carbide and bi-metal hole saws from 5/8 inches to 6 inches in diameter. The 5/8 inch threaded adapter fits arbors with diameters from 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches, and the 1/2 inch threaded adapter fits diameters from 9/16 inches to 3-1/16 inches.
Installation is typically performed by electricians, plumbers, or HVAC technicians during rough-in or retrofit work. Ensure the drill or drill press is powered off and the bit is secured in the mandrel before use. Follow applicable safety standards for rotary cutting tools, and use appropriate eye and hand protection when cutting metal or cast iron. Allow the blade to cool between cuts on dense metals to preserve carbide tip integrity.
