The FREUD DHS2250CT is a 2-1/4-inch carbide-tipped hole saw designed to cut through a wide range of materials including wood, nail-embedded wood, plastic, aluminum, metal, cast iron, and stainless steel. The carbide-tipped construction delivers longer cutting life than standard bi-metal hole saws, supporting faster cutting performance and higher productivity on demanding job sites. A 2-3/8-inch cutting depth allows for 40 percent deeper holes in a single pass compared to conventional designs. Licensed contractors, electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians reach for this tool when boring through tough substrates on both rough-in and finish work.
This hole saw is suited for residential and commercial applications where multi-material cutting is required in a single tool. It is particularly useful when working through wood framing with embedded nails, metal panels, or cast iron pipe flanges. The Snap Lock Plus mandrel system allows for quick, tool-free blade changes, reducing downtime between cuts. Tool-free plug ejection speeds material removal after each pass. The included mandrel, pilot bit, and threaded adapters make this a complete out-of-the-box cutting solution.
The included one-size-fits-all mandrel is compatible with all Diablo hole saws in the carbide and bi-metal range from 5/8 inches to 6 inches in diameter. The 5/8-inch threaded adapter fits hole saw diameters from 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches. The 1/2-inch threaded adapter fits diameters from 9/16 inches to 3-1/16 inches.
Installation is performed by electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors using a standard drill or drill press. Secure the mandrel and pilot bit assembly firmly before beginning any cut, and ensure the workpiece is clamped or otherwise stabilized. Wear appropriate eye and hand protection, as carbide-tipped saws generate significant heat and debris at cutting speeds. Power down the drill completely before changing the hole saw or ejecting the plug.
