The FREUD DHS2125CT is a 2-1/8 inch carbide tipped hole saw designed for cutting through wood, nail-embedded wood, plastic, aluminum, metal, cast iron, and stainless steel in a single tool. The carbide tip construction delivers longer cutting life compared to standard bi-metal hole saws, making it a dependable choice for trade professionals who need consistent performance across demanding materials. The saw provides a 2-3/8 inch cutting depth, allowing 40 percent deeper holes in a single pass. It ships as a complete kit with a mandrel, pilot bit, and threaded adapters, reducing the need for separate hardware on the job.
This hole saw is suited for electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors who regularly cut access holes through framing, mechanical rooms, metal panels, and mixed-material assemblies. The variable tooth design supports faster material removal across both wood and metal substrates. The included Snap Lock Plus mandrel system allows quick blade changes without downtime, which is a practical advantage when moving between hole sizes on a single job. The tool-free plug ejection feature speeds up material removal between cuts.
The included 1 Size Fits All mandrel fits all Diablo hole saws in the carbide and bi-metal range from 5/8 inches to 6 inches diameter. The 5/8 inch threaded adapter fits diameters 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches. The 1/2 inch threaded adapter fits diameters 9/16 inches to 3-1/16 inches.
Installation is performed by electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and carpenters using a standard drill or drill press. Always disconnect power or shut off relevant systems before cutting into walls, ceilings, or panels that may contain live wiring or pressurized lines. Secure the workpiece firmly before starting the cut to prevent blade walking. Use appropriate personal protective equipment when cutting metal or cast iron.
