The FREUD DHS1625CT is a 1-5/8 inch carbide tipped hole saw designed for demanding cutting applications across a wide range of materials. The carbide tip construction delivers longer cutting life than standard bi-metal hole saws, making it well suited for high-volume trade work where downtime is costly. With a 2-3/8 inch cutting depth, this saw cuts up to 40 percent deeper in a single pass compared to typical bi-metal alternatives. The variable tooth design reduces cutting resistance and speeds up material removal. It includes a mandrel, pilot bit, a 5/8 inch threaded adapter, and a 1/2 inch threaded adapter, providing a complete, job-ready package out of the box.
This hole saw is built for use on wood, nail-embedded wood, plastic, aluminum, metal, cast iron, and stainless steel. It is a practical choice for electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors who routinely cut through mixed materials in both new construction and retrofit work. The Snap Lock Plus mandrel system allows fast, tool-free bit changes between cuts, keeping the job moving without interruption. The tool-free plug ejection feature clears cut material quickly without stopping to clear the saw body by hand.
The included 1 Size Fits All mandrel is compatible with all Diablo hole saws in the carbide and bi-metal range from 5/8 inches to 6 inches in diameter. The 5/8 inch threaded adapter fits hole saw diameters from 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches. The 1/2 inch threaded adapter fits diameters from 9/16 inches to 3-1/16 inches.
This hole saw is intended for use by licensed tradespeople including electricians, plumbers, and HVAC installers performing material penetration work. Always disconnect power and confirm safe work conditions before cutting near electrical panels, conduit, or live service equipment. Secure the workpiece firmly before beginning the cut and use appropriate PPE including eye and hearing protection. Follow applicable NEC, IPC, or IFGC guidelines when making penetrations through structural or fire-rated assemblies.
