The FREUD DHS1250CT is a 1-1/4 inch diameter carbide tipped hole saw designed to cut through a wide range of materials including wood, nail-embedded wood, plastic, aluminum, cast iron, standard metal, and stainless steel. The carbide tip construction delivers longer cutting life than standard bi-metal hole saws, making it well suited for high-volume trade work where tool longevity and throughput matter. At 2-3/8 inches of cutting depth, it produces holes up to 40 percent deeper in a single pass compared to shallower saw designs, reducing the need for repositioning or secondary cuts. The variable tooth design supports faster cutting across the supported material range.
This hole saw is used across residential and light commercial construction, mechanical rough-in, and remodel work. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians rely on carbide hole saws for penetrations through framing, subflooring, metal studs, and mixed-material assemblies where bi-metal saws wear prematurely. The DHS1250CT includes a Snap-Lock Plus mandrel, pilot bit, a 5/8 inch threaded adapter fitting diameters 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches, and a 1/2 inch threaded adapter fitting diameters 9/16 inches to 3-1/16 inches. Tool-free plug ejection speeds material removal between cuts.
The included Snap-Lock Plus mandrel fits all Diablo hole saws in the carbide and bi-metal range from 5/8 inches to 6 inches in diameter. The 5/8 inch threaded adapter fits hole saw diameters from 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches. The 1/2 inch threaded adapter fits diameters from 9/16 inches to 3-1/16 inches.
Installation is performed by qualified tradespeople including HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians during rough-in or retrofit work. Secure the workpiece before drilling and ensure the pilot bit is fully seated before beginning the cut. Power down or de-energize any adjacent systems before cutting near existing wiring, piping, or ductwork. Follow applicable code requirements for penetration sizing and firestopping when drilling through rated assemblies.
