This hole saw is built for both residential and light commercial applications where a single tool needs to handle multiple substrate types without swapping out equipment. The included 1 Size Fits All mandrel is compatible with all Diablo hole saws in the carbide and bi-metal range from 5/8 inches to 6 inches in diameter. The 5/8 inch threaded adapter fits diameters 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches, and the 1/2 inch threaded adapter fits diameters 9/16 inches to 3-1/16 inches.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians, plumbers, or HVAC technicians as part of penetration and rough-in work. Before boring through any surface, confirm no live electrical conductors, pressurized lines, or structural members are present behind the cut zone. Use appropriate RPM settings for the material being cut — harder metals require slower speeds and may benefit from cutting fluid. Secure the workpiece before drilling and allow the pilot bit to establish the cut center before applying full feed pressure.
