The FREUD DHS1000CT is a 1-inch diameter carbide-tipped hole saw designed for multi-material cutting in demanding trade applications. With a 2-3/8-inch cutting depth, it delivers 40 percent deeper holes in a single pass compared to standard bi-metal hole saws, reducing the number of repositioning steps on the job. Carbide tipping extends cutting life beyond bi-metal alternatives, maintaining performance through harder materials without premature dulling. The variable tooth design supports faster feed rates across a range of substrates. This saw ships as a complete kit including a mandrel, pilot bit, and threaded adapters.
This hole saw is suited for residential and commercial work where a single tool must handle diverse materials in one session. It is appropriate for use on wood, nail-embedded wood, plastic, aluminum, standard metal, cast iron, and stainless steel. The included Snap Lock Plus mandrel system allows rapid saw changes without tools or downtime, making it practical on job sites where multiple hole sizes are needed in sequence. The 1 Size Fits All mandrel is compatible with the full Diablo carbide and bi-metal hole saw range from 5/8 inch to 6 inches in diameter.
The included 1 Size Fits All mandrel is compatible with all Diablo hole saws in the carbide and bi-metal range from 5/8 inch to 6 inches in diameter. The 5/8-inch threaded adapter fits diameters 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches. The 1/2-inch threaded adapter fits diameters 9/16 inches to 3-1/16 inches.
This hole saw is typically installed and operated by electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors using a standard drill or drill press. Before use, confirm the mandrel and pilot bit are fully seated and locked per the Snap Lock Plus system to prevent separation during cutting. Secure the workpiece before starting the cut, and allow the saw to reach full speed before contact with the material. Use appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when cutting metal or cast iron.
