The FREUD DAG3160 is a 1-1/2 inch by 17-1/2 inch auger bit engineered for drilling through nail-embedded wood in demanding job-site conditions. The self-feeding dura-tip pulls the bit into the material, reducing operator effort and maintaining consistent bore alignment. Dual cutting edges work together to produce a smooth, clean hole even when nails are present. Deep flutes accelerate chip evacuation, extending the number of holes achievable per battery charge. The bit is built for use in both cordless and corded impact drivers and drill drivers, and ships in a package of two.
This auger bit is suited for rough framing, demolition work, and retrofit installations where wood members routinely contain embedded fasteners. Electricians boring through studs and plates, plumbers running pipe through framing, and HVAC installers routing ductwork penetrations will all find this bit applicable. The extended 17-1/2 inch length provides reach through double plates, headers, and deep framing assemblies without requiring extensions. Package quantity is two bits per unit sold.
Designed for use with cordless and corded impact drivers and drill drivers. Suitable for applications involving nail-embedded lumber, rough framing, and demolition drilling where standard spade or twist bits would deflect or fail.
Licensed electricians, plumbers, and HVAC installers typically use auger bits of this type for rough-in boring through wood framing. Ensure the drill or impact driver is rated for the bit diameter and length before use. Verify that the work area is clear of concealed utilities beyond the intended bore path before drilling. Keep hands and clothing clear of the bit and chuck during operation.
