The FREUD 42-104 is a 2-flute carbide flush trim router bit designed for clean, precise trimming of laminates, veneers, and solid wood edges flush to a template or guide bearing surface. With a 0.5-inch overall diameter and a 1-inch cutting length, this bit handles a solid range of flush-trim tasks in woodworking and millwork applications. The 0.25-inch shank is compatible with standard trim and fixed-base routers. Carbide construction provides extended edge retention compared to high-speed steel, making it a practical choice for repetitive production cuts or job-site trim work. Total bit length is 2.3125 inches. Sold in a package of 10 units.
This flush trim bit is suited for residential finish carpentry, cabinet shop production, and general woodworking where laminate or solid-stock edges must be trimmed precisely flush to a substrate or template. The 1-inch cutting length accommodates typical laminate countertop edges, cabinet door overlays, and similar flush-trim operations. The 0.25-inch shank fits a wide range of trim routers and compact fixed-base router collets commonly used in both shop and field settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production-supply flush trim router bit compatible with routers accepting a 0.25-inch collet.
Router bit installation and operation should be performed by experienced woodworkers or finish carpenters familiar with router safety practices. Always power down and unplug the router before installing or changing bits. Insert the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the manufacturer-specified collet torque using the correct wrenches — never run a bit with a shank inserted less than the minimum engagement depth. Operate at the router speed appropriate for the bit diameter and material being cut, and always use appropriate eye and hearing protection.
