The FREUD 38-106 is a 1-3/8 inch Roman Ogee router bit designed for decorative edge profiling on cabinets, molding, furniture, millwork, and plaques. The bit features a 1/4 inch large radius, a 3/8 inch bearing, and a 23/32 inch carbide cutting height, delivering the classic S-curve ogee profile in a single pass. The 1/2 inch shank provides solid engagement in both handheld and table-mounted router collets. Overall length is 2-9/16 inches. Carbide construction handles repeated passes on hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, and composite materials without requiring frequent edge dressing.
The 38-106 is suited for residential and light commercial millwork applications where a consistent Roman Ogee profile is required. Typical installs include cabinet door edge treatment, face-frame decorative edging, furniture rail profiling, and custom molding runs. The bearing-guided design allows the bit to follow stock edges without a fence, making it practical for both router table setups and handheld freehand work. Compatible materials include solid hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, MDF, and other composite sheet goods.
Designed for use in handheld and table-mounted routers with a 1/2 inch collet. Cuts hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, and all composite materials including MDF.
Installation should be performed by a qualified woodworker or millwork professional familiar with router bit safety practices. Always power down and unplug the router or disengage the table-mounted router switch before changing bits. Insert the shank fully into the collet and tighten to manufacturer torque guidance for the specific router model in use. Feed direction, bit speed, and depth of cut should follow the router manufacturer recommendations and applicable workshop safety standards.
