The FREUD 38-102 is a carbide Roman ogee router bit designed for decorative edge profiling on cabinets, molding, and furniture. The bit cuts the classic S-curve ogee profile used widely in finish carpentry and cabinetmaking. It features a 1/4-inch shank, a 1-3/8-inch overall diameter, and a 1/4-inch radius. The carbide cutting edge delivers clean, consistent profiles across hardwood and softwood stock. The 23/32-inch cutting length accommodates standard material thicknesses used in cabinet door edges and furniture rail stock. Total length is 2-3/8 inches. Woodworkers and finish carpenters reach for this bit when a traditional ogee profile is required on solid wood or MDF components.
The FREUD 38-102 is suited for use on router tables and handheld routers in residential and light commercial woodworking applications. Common uses include cabinet door edges, drawer fronts, furniture aprons, chair rails, and decorative molding runs. The 1/4-inch shank fits standard collets found on most trim routers and full-size routers. It is appropriate for finish carpenters, cabinetmakers, and skilled woodworking tradespeople working with solid wood, plywood edge banding, and MDF.
Designed for use in 1/4-inch collet routers, including trim routers and full-size routers commonly used in cabinetmaking and finish carpentry applications.
A licensed or experienced woodworking tradesperson should install and operate this bit. Before mounting, ensure the router is unplugged or the power switch is locked out. Insert the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the manufacturer torque specification for the router being used. Always wear appropriate eye and hearing protection, and confirm bit direction and feed rate are correct before running a profile cut.
