The FREUD 36-114 is a carbide beading router bit designed for cutting decorative and rounded edge profiles on wood and wood-composite materials. The bit features a 1-1/4 inch cutting diameter with a 3/8 inch radius profile, producing a clean, consistent bead along workpiece edges. The 1/2 inch cutting length provides adequate depth engagement for standard beading passes, and the 2-3/16 inch total length fits most fixed-base and plunge routers. Carbide construction provides extended edge retention compared to high-speed steel alternatives. This bit is installed and run by cabinetmakers, finish carpenters, and millwork professionals.
The 36-114 is suited for decorative edge work on cabinet doors, drawer fronts, furniture rails, and architectural millwork profiles. The 1/4 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard 1/4 inch router collets found on both handheld routers and router table setups. It is appropriate for residential finish carpentry and light commercial millwork applications where repeatable bead profiles are required on solid wood, MDF, and plywood edge banding.
Designed for use with routers accepting a 1/4 inch collet. Suitable for handheld router and router table applications on solid wood, MDF, and wood composite materials.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified woodworking professionals or experienced tradespeople familiar with router safety practices. Power down and fully disconnect the router from its power source before installing or removing the bit. Insert the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the router manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate collet wrenches. Always confirm the bit is seated and locked before operating, and wear appropriate eye and hearing protection during use.
