The FORNEY INDUSTRIES INC 55320 is a lift-front acetylene welding goggle designed for gas welding and cutting operations. The goggle features a 2 inch by 4.25 inch lens that pivots upward, allowing the wearer to raise the lens without removing the goggle entirely. This design supports faster workflow transitions between active welding and inspection tasks. The lift-front mechanism is a standard feature on acetylene and oxy-fuel setups where frequent lens movement is part of normal operation. This goggle is installed and used by welders, pipefitters, and maintenance trades working with oxy-acetylene torches in fabrication, HVAC, and industrial settings.
The 55320 is suited for oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, and brazing applications. It is intended for use wherever a gas welding goggle is required by procedure or safety standard. The lift-front lens format is common in light fabrication shops, plumbing rough-ins involving sweat or braze joints, and HVAC installations requiring torch work on copper refrigerant or gas piping. Each unit is packaged individually and sold in multiples of 6.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-issue goggle for oxy-acetylene and oxy-fuel welding and cutting setups requiring a lift-front lens format.
Welding goggles are worn PPE and do not require tools for fitting. Before beginning any oxy-acetylene operation, confirm gas connections are secure and valves are in the closed position prior to donning eye protection. Inspect the lens and frame for cracks or damage before each use. Follow applicable ANSI Z87.1 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.252 eye protection requirements for welding operations.
