The Forney Industries 37250 is a brazing flux supplied in a 0.5-pound tub. Brazing flux is applied to base metals and filler materials before and during the brazing process to prevent oxidation, promote filler flow, and produce clean, sound joints. It is used by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics working with copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous metals. The 0.5-pound tub size is well suited for field service kits, maintenance shops, and light production work where a full-pound container is unnecessary.
This flux is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications, including copper pipe brazing on refrigerant lines, domestic water systems, and hydronic heating circuits. It is commonly used wherever silver-bearing or phosphorus-copper filler alloys are specified and a clean, flux-coated joint is required prior to torch application.
Designed as an OEM-style brazing flux suitable for use with copper, brass, and other non-ferrous metals in HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing brazing applications.
Brazing flux application and torch work on pressurized systems must be performed by a qualified technician following all applicable local codes, including the International Fuel Gas Code and International Plumbing Code where relevant. Depressurize and purge any lines before applying heat, and allow joints to cool before handling or pressure-testing. Remove flux residue from completed joints using warm water and a clean cloth, as residual flux can be corrosive over time.
