The FORD METER BOX c17-33-nl is a no-lead coupling designed to transition between a 3/4-inch female iron pipe thread connection and a 3/4-inch PVC pack joint connection. This fitting is used in water service line applications where a threaded metal pipe must connect to a PVC service line without the use of lead-containing materials. The pack joint end grips the PVC pipe mechanically, providing a reliable seal without the need for solvent cement or threading tools on the PVC side. Licensed plumbers and water service contractors install this fitting in below-grade and meter-pit environments.
This coupling fits standard 3/4-inch water service installations, typically found in residential and light commercial water meter settings, curb stop connections, and meter pit assemblies. The FIP end threads onto male-threaded fittings, meter flanges, or service valves, while the pack joint end accepts standard 3/4-inch PVC pipe. It is commonly used when connecting PVC service pipe to brass or iron threaded components in municipal or private water service work.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for standard 3/4-inch FIP threaded connections to 3/4-inch PVC pack joint pipe in potable water service applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC standards. Shut off the water service at the curb stop or main before beginning work and relieve line pressure before disassembly. Thread the FIP end onto a clean, undamaged male thread using appropriate thread sealant rated for potable water service. Insert PVC pipe fully into the pack joint end and verify the grip ring is properly seated before restoring water pressure.
