The FLUKE 80PK-8 is a Type K pipe clamp thermocouple probe designed for surface temperature measurement on pipes. It clamps directly to pipe exteriors and feeds a temperature signal to any compatible Type K thermocouple meter or data logger. The probe operates across a range of -20 to 300 degrees F (-29 to 149 degrees C), making it suitable for a wide range of HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration diagnostic work. The straight PVC-coated cable keeps the lead flexible and durable in field conditions. Response time is rated at 0.5 seconds, giving technicians fast, stable readings during service calls.
This probe is intended for outside surface temperature measurement on pipes ranging from 1/4 inch to 1-3/8 inches in diameter. HVAC technicians use it to check suction and discharge line temperatures, verify superheat and subcooling without puncturing refrigerant lines, and monitor pipe temperatures in hydronic systems. Plumbers and pipe fitters use it to check flow temperatures on domestic hot water and process piping. It fits into any workflow where a non-invasive pipe surface reading is needed.
Designed for use with any meter or instrument that accepts a standard Type K thermocouple input. Suitable for pipe surface measurements on pipes 1/4 inch to 1-3/8 inches in diameter.
Installation and use of this probe does not require powering down a system, but technicians should follow safe handling procedures when working near energized equipment or pressurized lines. Secure the clamp firmly against the pipe surface and allow the probe to stabilize before recording a reading. Avoid routing the cable near sharp edges or extreme heat sources that could damage the PVC jacket. This probe is intended for surface measurement only and should not be inserted into refrigerant lines, fluid streams, or gas passages.
