The probe features a grounded junction and a 316 stainless steel sheath measuring 4 inches in length with a 0.134-inch diameter, making it suitable for puncturing food products, soft compounds, and similar media. The straight PVC-coated cable terminates in a Type K mini connector for direct connection to compatible meters and data loggers. Response time is 3 seconds, and the operating range spans -320 degrees F to 1,500 degrees F (-196 degrees C to 816 degrees C). Licensed HVAC technicians, refrigeration techs, and food-service equipment professionals are the primary installers.
This probe is well suited for residential and light commercial service work where surface or immersion probes are not appropriate. Common applications include checking temperature in viscous fluids, gel-based materials, soft food products, and semi-hard compounds. The piercing tip allows the probe to penetrate the material surface without requiring a pre-drilled access point.
