The FLEXMASTER 1mr6.0-10 is an R-6 insulated acoustical flexible duct designed for use in residential and light commercial HVAC air distribution systems. This flex duct is constructed to reduce airborne noise transmission between the air handler or furnace and the supply registers, making it a preferred choice where sound attenuation is a priority. The 10-inch diameter and 25-foot length suit a wide range of trunk-to-register runs. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors install this product as part of ducted forced-air systems to connect supply plenums and branch takeoffs to diffusers and grilles.
This acoustical flex duct is suited for residential new construction, retrofit installations, and light commercial applications where supply-side duct runs require both thermal insulation and noise reduction. The R-6 insulation value meets common energy code requirements for duct insulation in conditioned and semi-conditioned spaces such as attics, crawlspaces, and furred ceilings. The 10-inch diameter accommodates higher-volume branch runs typical in larger residential zones or small commercial spaces. The 25-foot section length reduces the number of joints required on longer runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation flexible duct for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC supply systems using standard 10-inch round fittings, collars, and takeoffs.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal contractor in accordance with ACCA Manual D and applicable local mechanical codes. Secure each end with an approved clamp or draw band and seal with UL 181B-listed mastic or tape before covering with insulation. Avoid sharp bends, compression, or excessive sag along the duct run, as these conditions reduce airflow and increase static pressure. Shut down the air handler and de-energize the system before making connections at the plenum or any live ductwork.
