The FLEXDUCT 860C is an R-6 insulated flexible air duct designed for residential and light commercial HVAC distribution systems. Constructed with a fiberglass insulation blanket and a UV-inhibited black outer jacket, this flex duct provides thermal performance and durability in both conditioned and unconditioned spaces. The 8-inch diameter and 25-foot length make it a standard field-cut run for supply and return trunk connections. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers are the primary trades working with this product.
This duct section is suited for supply air distribution in forced-air heating and cooling systems, including installations in attics, crawlspaces, and mechanical rooms. The UV-inhibited outer jacket resists degradation in attic environments where incidental light exposure occurs. At 8 inches in diameter and 25 feet per bag, a single unit handles most standard branch runs without a field splice. The R-6 insulation value meets common energy code minimums for duct insulation in conditioned and semi-conditioned spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction flexible duct for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems using 8-inch round duct connections.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal contractors in accordance with SMACNA guidelines and applicable local mechanical codes. Power down the air handling unit and close the disconnect before making duct connections. Secure both ends of the flex duct with approved duct straps and mastic or UL 181B-listed tape — never use standard cloth duct tape alone on flex duct connections. Support the duct at intervals per manufacturer and code requirements to prevent excessive sag, which reduces airflow performance.
