The FLAGRO FVO-400RC is a 390,000 BTU/h indirect fired, forced-air oil heater equipped with a recirculating hood for efficient heat distribution across long duct runs. The unit draws combustion air and routes exhaust outside the conditioned space, making it suitable for occupied job sites where clean air is required. A 1 HP backward-incline blower delivers up to 4,000 CFM of heated air, and the welded 304 stainless steel heat exchanger in 16-gauge construction handles sustained high-output operation. Power requirements are 115 volts, 15 amps with an actual draw of 10.5 amps, compatible with standard single-phase temporary power. HVAC contractors and mechanical crews deploy this unit for temporary heat on construction projects, industrial shutdowns, and large-scale restoration work.
The FVO-400RC is designed for temporary heating applications in commercial construction, industrial facilities, tented event spaces, and remediation job sites. The recirculating hood allows heated air to be returned and redistributed, improving thermal efficiency in spaces with high ceilings or large open volumes. The unit supports flexible ducting configurations: two 12-inch diameter air outlets or one 16-inch diameter outlet, plus a 16-inch diameter air inlet for return ducting. Compatible outlet ducting includes FV-HD12 (12-inch by 12-foot) and FV-HDG16 (16-inch by 25-foot); return ducting uses FV-HDV16 (16-inch by 25-foot). Total ductable reach extends up to 150 feet, making it practical for complex temporary heat distribution layouts.
The FVO-400RC accepts compatible Flagro ducting accessories including FV-HD12 (12-inch by 12-foot outlet duct), FV-HDG16 (16-inch by 25-foot outlet duct), and FV-HDV16 (16-inch by 25-foot return duct). It is designed as a direct model in the Flagro FVO-400 series alongside related configurations FVO-400RCBT, FVO-750, and FVO-1100TR.
This unit is installed and serviced by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified mechanical contractors experienced with temporary heating equipment. Before connecting or disconnecting ducting, shut down the heater and allow the heat exchanger to cool completely. Ensure combustion exhaust is routed to an unoccupied exterior zone per applicable codes — exhaust gases must never enter the conditioned space. Temporary power connections must meet NEC requirements for the 115-volt, 15-amp circuit; verify the site supply can sustain the startup load before energizing the unit.
