The coupling body is manufactured from elastomeric rubber and secured with stainless steel bands that compress the sleeve evenly around each pipe end to form a watertight, pressure-resistant seal. This design accommodates minor thermal expansion, contraction, and slight angular misalignment without rigid mechanical fasteners.
