The FEDERAL SIGNAL CORPORATION 24XSTHI-MOD is an explosion proof strobe light designed for use in Class I Division 1 hazardous locations. Operating at 24 volts, this unit provides high-intensity visual signaling in environments where ignitable gases, vapors, or liquids may be present. The clear lens allows maximum light output across the coverage area. It carries UL listing, confirming it meets the safety and performance standards required for installation in classified hazardous areas. Licensed electricians and fire alarm technicians are the primary installers of this type of device.
This strobe is rated for Class I Division 1 (CID1) hazardous locations, making it appropriate for industrial facilities such as petrochemical plants, refineries, paint spray booths, and similar environments where flammable atmospheres can exist under normal operating conditions. The 24-volt operating voltage is consistent with standard fire alarm and industrial signaling panel outputs commonly found in these installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation strobe for Class I Division 1 rated signaling systems operating at 24 volts in industrial and commercial hazardous location applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with NEC Article 500 requirements for hazardous location wiring. De-energize the signaling circuit at the panel before beginning any wiring work. All conduit seals and fittings used with this device must be rated for the applicable hazardous location classification. Do not open the enclosure or service the unit in the presence of a potentially ignitable atmosphere.
