The FEBCO f825gbv is a 1-1/2 inch Y-pattern reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly designed to protect potable water supplies from contamination caused by backsiphonage and backpressure. Built with a rough bronze body, this assembly integrates threaded quarter-turn ball valve shutoffs at both inlet and outlet, spring-loaded Y-pattern check valves, test cocks, and a hydraulically dependent differential relief valve. A standout feature is the integrated SentryPlus Alert flood sensor, which detects excessive water discharge from the relief valve and can trigger alerts via add-on sensor connection kits supporting BMS or cellular communications. Rated to 175 psi working pressure and temperatures from 32 to 140 degrees F, this assembly is built for demanding, continuous-pressure service.
This assembly is intended for high-hazard (health hazard) applications where maximum cross-connection protection is required. Typical installations include water service lines to industrial plants, hospitals, morgues, mortuaries, and chemical plants. It is also suitable for irrigation systems, boiler feed lines, and other installations where toxic or otherwise harmful fluids present a contamination risk to the potable water supply. Both inlet and outlet connections are 1-1/2 inch female NPT threaded, simplifying inline installation in standard threaded piping systems.
Designed as an OEM-style RPZ backflow preventer assembly for inline installation in 1-1/2 inch NPT threaded piping systems requiring high-hazard cross-connection protection. Part of the FEBCO 825Y series.
Installation and testing of RPZ backflow preventer assemblies must be performed by a licensed plumber or certified backflow tester in accordance with local plumbing codes and applicable requirements of the IPC or jurisdiction-adopted equivalent. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or servicing this assembly. Orient the assembly correctly per the flow-direction markings on the body, and ensure adequate clearance below the relief valve outlet for drainage per local code. Periodic field testing with calibrated differential pressure gauges is required to maintain compliance.
