The FANTECH fkd-12 is a mixed flow duct fan designed for inline installation in 12-inch round duct systems. It delivers 1305 CFM at free air and maintains strong airflow under static pressure, dropping to 948 CFM at 1.0-inch static pressure and 712 CFM at 1.5 inches. The 5/8 hp, single-phase, 120-volt motor draws a maximum of 4.86 amps and is housed in a totally enclosed motor enclosure, making it suitable for demanding ventilation applications. The galvanized steel housing resists corrosion and holds up in commercial and industrial environments. HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors are the primary installers of this unit.
The fkd-12 is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial inline ventilation systems where high airflow through 12-inch ductwork is required. Common applications include exhaust and supply air systems for kitchens, workshops, warehouses, and mechanical rooms. Its horizontal and vertical mounting flexibility allows installation in a wide range of duct configurations. The unit supports continuous-duty operation with a maximum inlet air temperature of 140 degrees F, making it appropriate for warm exhaust air streams.
Designed for inline installation in 12-inch round duct systems with an inlet and outlet diameter of 11 7/8 inches. The 14-inch housing diameter should be accounted for when planning clearances and support brackets.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or mechanical contractor in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and NEC requirements. Disconnect and lock out all power to the duct system before mounting or wiring the fan. The unit must be properly supported using appropriate hanging brackets or mounting hardware rated for the fan weight and orientation. Confirm duct connections are sealed to prevent air leakage and verify wire gauge is appropriate for the maximum 4.86-amp draw.
