The ESAB 01X17 is a heavy-duty 3-hose mechanized cutting torch designed for use with acetylene or alternate fuel gases. Built for shape cutting machines, this torch measures 20 inches in length and delivers outstanding cutting capacity with high cutting speeds when paired with ESAB high-speed cutting nozzles. The medium pressure mixer accommodates any fuel gas, giving fabricators flexibility across different shop setups. Three separate hose connections, including a dedicated cutting oxygen line, keep fuel and oxygen flows independent for improved cut quality and performance. Welding professionals and industrial cutting operators working with mechanized or CNC shape cutting equipment will find this torch well-suited to demanding production environments.
The ESAB 01X17 is used in industrial and general fabrication, structural steel fabrication, light fabrication, and repair and maintenance applications. It is designed for installation on shape cutting machines rather than hand-held operation. When used with acetylene, it cuts steel plate up to 18 inches thick. With alternate fuels such as propane or natural gas, cutting capacity reaches up to 6 inches of steel. This range of capacity makes it a practical fit for both heavy structural work and general shop cutting tasks.
Designed for use on shape cutting machines and mechanized oxy-fuel cutting equipment. Compatible with ESAB high-performance cutting nozzles. Suitable for use with acetylene and alternate fuel gases.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welding or cutting equipment technician familiar with oxy-fuel systems. Shut off all gas supplies and depressurize all hoses before connecting or disconnecting torch components. Verify all fittings are leak-free using an approved leak detection solution before igniting any fuel gas. Follow applicable safety codes and equipment manufacturer guidelines for mechanized torch mounting and gas supply connections.
