The ERGODYNE 17993 is a cut and puncture-resistant work glove built for trades professionals who need hand protection in cold, wet, or sharp-material environments. Constructed with a 13-gauge HPPE shell, the glove carries an ANSI/ISEA Cut Resistance Level A5 rating, making it appropriate for work around sheet metal, glass, sharp piping, or wire. A fully coated latex exterior seals out water and cold air, while a brushed 10g acrylic fleece liner provides thermal comfort during extended wear. The nitrile-dipped palm delivers grip on wet or oily surfaces. This is a medium-size, unisex glove sold as a pair.
The 17993 is suited for residential and commercial trade work where hand protection against both lacerating materials and cold conditions is required. Typical applications include HVAC installation and ductwork handling, plumbing rough-in, electrical conduit work, and general construction tasks performed in low-temperature or wet conditions. The full latex coating makes it particularly useful for outdoor or cold-weather jobsites where partial dipping would leave the back of the hand exposed to moisture.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard procurement glove for trade professionals requiring ANSI A5 cut protection with thermal and waterproof properties in medium sizing. Part of the ERGODYNE Series 7551 product line.
Inspect gloves for damage to the latex coating before each use, as punctures or tears compromise waterproof performance. Gloves should be donned before handling any sharp-edged materials, sheet metal, or wire to ensure full protective coverage from the start of the task. Follow applicable OSHA hand protection requirements (29 CFR 1910.138) for the specific hazard environment. Do not use these gloves for electrical arc flash or high-voltage work, as they are not rated for electrical insulation.
