The ERGODYNE 12437 is a flame resistant cooling towel designed for workers in arc flash and high-heat environments. Built from modacrylic knit fabric, it carries an ATPV rating of 5.8 cal/cm2 and meets NFPA 70E CAT 1 classification. The fabric will not melt or drip under arc flash exposure, making it a functional piece of PPE rather than just a comfort accessory. To activate cooling, wet the towel and wring it out. The evaporative effect lasts up to two hours. Worn dry, the stretchy material wicks moisture and draws sweat away from the skin to help regulate body temperature. The towel measures 28 inches long by 9.5 inches wide and folds down to a compact size for easy storage or carry.
This cooling towel is intended for trade and industrial workers in petrochemical, electrical, oil and gas, and refinery environments where arc flash hazards are present. It functions as a neck gaiter-style wrap, providing coverage across the neck and upper chest. It is sized for one-size-fits-most adult wear and is suited for all-day use in hot, outdoor, or confined work environments where standard cooling accessories would not meet flame resistant requirements.
Designed as a one-size-fits-most FR cooling accessory for workers required to wear NFPA 70E CAT 1 compliant PPE in arc flash or flame hazard environments.
This item is a wearable PPE accessory and does not require mechanical installation. Verify that this towel is included in the site hazard risk assessment and PPE program before use in arc flash environments. Follow your facility arc flash program and NFPA 70E requirements when selecting and combining PPE layers. Launder per care instructions to maintain flame resistant properties.
