The ENERCO HSVFBF10 is a 10,000 BTU vent-free blue flame heater designed for supplemental heating in spaces up to approximately 250 square feet. Available in Natural Gas and Liquid Propane configurations, it operates at 99.9% thermal efficiency and requires no flue or venting, making it a practical solution for rooms where ducted or vented heat is not available. The unit features a built-in Piezo ignition integrated into the control knob and a thermostatic manual control with five settings that modulate the flame as the room approaches the set temperature. A built-in low-oxygen shutoff (ODS) sensor automatically cuts gas flow if ambient oxygen drops below a safe level. Licensed plumbers and gas fitters typically handle installation of this type of appliance.

Installation Notes

Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with local codes, NFPA 54 (National Fuel Gas Code), and the manufacturer instructions supplied with the unit. Shut off the gas supply at the service valve before making or breaking any gas connections. Minimum clearances must be observed: 36 inches above the unit to the ceiling, 3 inches from the bottom of the unit to the floor when using base feet, and 10 inches to each side wall. For wall mounting, the manufacturer recommends a mounting height of 36 inches from the floor. Vent-free heaters must not be installed in bathrooms, bedrooms smaller than the minimum room-size requirement stated in the installation manual, or in any jurisdiction that prohibits vent-free appliances — this product cannot be shipped to California.
