The ENERCO F160491 is an indirect fired utility unit heater rated at 125,000 BTU/h, designed for natural gas operation with a propane (LP) conversion kit included. It runs on 110 VAC single-phase power and delivers forced-air heat to spaces up to 4,167 square feet. The heater uses spark ignition with a self-diagnostic control module, making fault identification straightforward for HVAC technicians and commercial service contractors. Its low-profile cabinet allows installation in buildings with limited overhead clearance, and two angle brackets for ceiling mounting are included in the box. This unit targets industrial and utility heating applications where a robust, vented gas heater is required.
The F160491 is suited for commercial and industrial environments such as warehouses, workshops, garages, and agricultural buildings. The unit accepts a 1/2-inch gas connection and supports both Category 1 vertical venting and Category 3 horizontal venting configurations, giving installers flexibility based on building layout. The included LP conversion kit means the same unit can be commissioned on propane supply lines without sourcing a separate conversion kit. A minimum clearance of 8 feet from the floor to the base of the heater is required per the manufacturer specification.
Designed as an OEM-style indirect fired unit heater for commercial and industrial forced-air heating applications requiring natural gas or propane fuel supply and Category 1 or Category 3 venting.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC or gas-fitting contractor in accordance with local mechanical codes and the IFGC. Shut off the gas supply and disconnect power at the circuit breaker before servicing. Maintain the manufacturer-required minimum of 8 feet of clearance from the finished floor to the base of the unit. Verify vent category compatibility with the flue system before connecting; Category 1 and Category 3 vent materials have different pressure and temperature ratings and are not interchangeable.
