The EMUGE CU20C300.5013 is a spiral point tap designed for through-hole threading in a wide range of materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Built from High-Speed Steel-E (HSS-E) with a GLT-1 coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction in demanding production environments. The 1/2-13 UNC thread form is cut with a plug chamfer and a right-hand thread direction, producing a 2B class of fit with an H6 thread limit. At 4.331 inches overall length with a 0.984-inch thread length, this tap is suited for CNC machining centers and manual tapping operations where consistent thread quality is required. Machinists and production tooling specialists are the primary users.
This tap is used for through-hole threading applications in manufacturing and job shop environments. The spiral point geometry pushes chips ahead of the tap and out through the bottom of the hole, making it the standard choice for production through-hole work in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metal workpieces. It is not designed for blind-hole applications. The 1/2-13 UNC designation covers one of the most common fastener thread sizes in inch-standard mechanical assemblies, making this tap a frequent production item across general machining, structural, and equipment repair work.
Designed for through-hole threading in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metal workpieces. Fits standard tapping chucks and holders accepting a 0.367-inch (9.32 mm) shank diameter with a 6.99 mm square drive. Part of the EMUGE CU20C300 series.
Installation is performed by machinists using CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual tapping equipment. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the through-hole is drilled to the correct tap drill diameter for 1/2-13 UNC before threading. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing or setting the tap in the holder. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to preserve coating life and thread quality.
