The EMUGE CU100501.5050 is a 3/4-16 UNF straight-flute machine tap engineered for high-performance threading in demanding materials. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a nitride coating, this tap handles heat and wear better than standard HSS tools. It carries a modified bottoming chamfer, allowing threads to be cut close to the bottom of a blind hole. With four flutes and a right-hand thread direction, it delivers clean chip evacuation and consistent thread geometry in both blind-hole and through-hole applications. Shank diameter is 0.590 inches with a 0.442-inch square drive size. Overall length is 4.331 inches.
This tap is suited for production and maintenance threading operations where material hardness and thread accuracy are critical. The Rekord A-H series is designed for tapping austenitic iron, ferritic iron, perlitic iron, spheroidal graphite iron, Meehanite iron, bronze, gunmetal, low alloyed casting steel, tool steel, and high speed steel. A 2BX class of fit provides a slightly oversized thread to compensate for coating buildup, making it appropriate for plated or coated fastener applications. The modified bottoming chamfer makes it the right choice where thread depth must be maximized in a blind hole.
Designed for 3/4-16 UNF right-hand threading in austenitic iron, ferritic iron, perlitic iron, spheroidal graphite iron, Meehanite iron, bronze, gunmetal, low alloyed casting steel, tool steel, and high speed steel workpieces. Fits standard machine tap holders accepting a 0.590-inch shank diameter with a 0.442-inch square drive.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist using a rigid tapping machine, CNC machining center, or tapping head with appropriate torque control. Power down or disengage the spindle before seating or removing the tap from the holder. Use cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain thread quality. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for cobalt taps in the target material - do not exceed the tool's rated capacity to avoid breakage.
