The EMUGE C1667300.0100 is a cobalt spiral point extension tap designed for metric threading in deep or hard-to-reach bores. The extra-length design measures 7.9 inches overall, giving machinists and tool operators extended reach without the need for secondary tooling setups. The M10 x 1.5 thread profile conforms to a 6H class of fit, making it suitable for precision metric fastener applications. An NE2 coating reduces friction and improves wear resistance during cutting. With three right-hand flutes and a semi-bottoming chamfer, this tap drives chips forward through the hole, making it well-suited for through-hole tapping operations at production rates.
This extension tap is rated for use in aluminum, carbon steel, copper, and stainless steel. The extra-length shank construction targets applications where standard-length taps cannot access the thread zone - including deep counterbores, recessed bosses, and workpieces mounted in fixture plates. It is a single-unit tool intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and tapping machines where controlled feed and speed can be maintained consistently across materials.
Designed for use in aluminum, carbon steel, copper, and stainless steel workpieces requiring M10 x 1.5 right-hand metric threads with a 6H class of fit. Part of the EMUGE C1667300 series for extra-length tapping applications.
This tap should be installed and operated by qualified machinists or tool and die technicians familiar with metric thread standards and tapping procedures. Power down or de-energize any machine spindle before mounting or removing the tap from its holder. Use a tap holder rated for the shank diameter and square drive size to prevent slippage or tool damage. Follow the material manufacturer and machine builder recommendations for cutting speed, feed rate, and lubrication when tapping stainless steel or other work-hardening materials.
