The EMUGE BU921400.5009 is a thread forming tap designed for 1/4-20 UNC threading in blind hole and through-hole applications. It is manufactured from High-Speed Steel-E (cobalt-grade HSS) and finished with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating for improved wear resistance and tool life. The modified bottoming chamfer, with 2-3 chamfered threads, allows the tap to thread close to the bottom of blind holes. This tap operates in right-hand thread direction and carries a 2BX class of fit, making it suitable for precision threading tasks. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians typically install or deploy this tool in production and repair environments.

Installation Notes

Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the pilot hole diameter matches the thread forming specifications for 1/4-20 UNC before beginning. Cutting fluid or tapping lubricant appropriate for the workpiece material should be applied to reduce heat and tool wear. Coolant-through is not supported on this tap.
