The EMUGE BU921000.5007 is a thread forming tap in the Rekord Druck-S series, designed for cold-forming internal threads in steel without cutting or producing chips. Operating on a 10-24 UNC thread standard with a 2BX class of fit, this tap displaces material rather than removing it, producing stronger threads with improved surface finish. It is manufactured from High-Speed Steel-E (cobalt-bearing) and carries a nitride coating for enhanced wear resistance and reduced friction. With a modified bottoming chamfer of 2 to 3 threads, it is suited for both blind hole and through-hole threading applications. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this tap in production and maintenance environments.
This tap is intended for threading steel workpieces in blind hole and through-hole configurations. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole, making it practical for tight-tolerance assemblies. The 10-24 UNC thread form is common in light fastener applications across industrial and commercial manufacturing. The Druck 1-STEEL-SN-NT trade designation indicates the tap is optimized specifically for steel materials under the P material application code, covering a broad range of carbon, alloy, and tool steels.
Designed for blind hole and through-hole threading in steel materials (material application code P), including carbon, alloy, and similar steels, consistent with the Druck 1-STEEL-SN-NT application designation.
Thread forming taps require a properly sized forming tap drill hole, which is larger than a standard cut tap drill - consult the appropriate forming tap drill chart for 10-24 UNC before drilling. Power down and secure the workpiece before tool engagement. Use a suitable tapping fluid or cutting oil rated for steel to reduce friction and heat buildup. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following applicable shop safety and tooling procedures.
