The EMUGE BU208400.5010 is a spiral point tap designed for through-hole threading in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from HSS-E cobalt high-speed steel and coated with titanium nitride (TiN), it delivers extended tool life in demanding production environments. The 5/16-18 UNC thread form, 3-flute configuration, and plug chamfer make it well suited for machine tapping operations where chips need to be pushed ahead of the cutting edge rather than packed into the flute. This tap cuts a right-hand, 2B class of fit thread to H5 thread limit tolerance, making it appropriate for standard inch-fastener clearances in manufacturing and maintenance applications.

This tap is used in through-hole tapping of steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals in both production shop and maintenance-repair-operations settings. The spiral point geometry feeds chips forward through the hole, reducing the risk of chip packing and tap breakage at higher feed rates.
