The EMUGE BU100501.5007 is a 10-24 UNC straight flute machine tap from the Rekord A-H series, designed for right-hand threading in both blind hole and through-hole applications. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a nitride coating, this tap delivers heat and wear resistance suited to demanding production environments. It features a modified bottoming chamfer for threading close to the bottom of a blind hole, 3 straight flutes for chip management in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, and a Class 2BX fit for slightly oversize threads that accommodate plated or coated fasteners. Overall length is 2.756 inches with a thread length of 0.591 inches.
This tap is intended for machine tapping operations in job shop, production machining, and maintenance environments. The 10-24 UNC thread form is a common unified coarse pitch used across a wide range of fabricated assemblies and equipment. The modified bottoming chamfer makes it well suited for blind hole work where full thread depth near the hole bottom is required. The material compatibility list covers a broad range of workpiece materials including austenitic iron, bronze, ferritic iron, gunmetal, high-speed steel, low alloyed casting steel, Meehanite iron, perlitic iron, spheroidal graphite iron, and tool steel.
Suitable for machine tapping 10-24 UNC threads in austenitic iron, bronze, ferritic iron, gunmetal, high-speed steel, low alloyed casting steel, Meehanite iron, perlitic iron, spheroidal graphite iron, and tool steel workpieces.
Installation is performed by machinists using standard tapping machines, CNC machining centers, or drill presses with tapping attachments. Ensure the spindle is properly aligned and the workpiece is securely fixtured before engaging the tap. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to reduce friction and extend tap life. Inspect the tap for wear or chipping before each use and replace if thread quality degrades.
