The EMUGE B521Z700.0050 is a thread forming tap designed for M5x0.80 metric threads, manufactured from powdered metal high-speed steel (HSS-E-PM) with a TiN-80 coating. Unlike cutting taps, this forming tap cold-forms threads by displacing material rather than cutting chips, producing stronger, burnished threads with no swarf to clear. It carries a 6HX class of fit designation and a modified bottoming chamfer with 2 to 3 chamfered threads, making it well suited for shallow blind holes where thread engagement close to the bottom is required. Licensed machinists and toolroom professionals are the primary installers.
