The EMUGE 2644T.008 is a solid carbide roughing finishing end mill engineered for high-performance material removal and surface finishing in a single tool. Built to Series 2644T specifications, it features a 5-flute geometry with a 42-degree helix angle and a TiN/TiAlN dual-layer coating that improves wear resistance and heat dissipation during aggressive cutting operations. The square end profile delivers clean shoulder cuts and precise floor finishes. With an extra-long overall length of 68 mm and a 24 mm length of cut, this tool is suited for deep-pocket and extended-reach milling applications. It is installed and operated by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians working in ferrous and non-ferrous machining environments.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers where both roughing and finishing passes are required without a tool change. The extra-long configuration and cylindrical shank make it appropriate for deep-cavity milling, die and mold work, and general-purpose profiling. Right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional spindle setups. The single-end design concentrates tool mass at the cutting end, supporting rigidity during high-feed operations. Machinists working in production and prototype environments will find this tool effective for reducing cycle time by combining roughing and finishing functions.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for Series 2644T solid carbide roughing finishing end mills with an 8 mm shank diameter and cylindrical shank interface, compatible with standard ER and milling chuck toolholders accepting 8 mm shanks.
This tool is installed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify toolholder runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for drawbar torque and pull-out force ratings.
