The EMPIRE INDUSTRIES RH50CBLP is a closed-front LP gas room heater rated at 50,000 BTU/h, designed for permanent installation in residential and light-commercial spaces requiring supplemental or primary zone heating. The unit operates on a standing pilot ignition system and includes a factory-installed blower to distribute heated air across the room. A hydraulic thermostat provides automatic temperature control without requiring electrical connections to the gas valve circuit, making the RH50CBLP suitable for installations where low-voltage thermostat wiring is not practical. Licensed heating technicians and qualified gas-fitter trades are the typical installing professionals.
The RH50CBLP is intended for use as a freestanding or wall-installed supplemental room heater in residential living areas, cabins, workshops, and similar occupied spaces. Its closed-front cabinet design contains the combustion chamber and directs airflow through the blower outlet, reducing radiant surface temperatures compared to open-front units. The standing pilot and hydraulic thermostat configuration supports operation independent of household electricity, making it a viable heating source during power outages when blower use is not required.
Designed as an OEM-style LP gas room heater for residential and light-commercial supplemental heating applications where a closed-front, blower-equipped standing-pilot unit is specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas fitter or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with local codes, NFPA 54, and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off the LP gas supply at the tank or meter before making any gas connections, and verify all joints with an approved leak-detection solution before lighting the pilot. Maintain required clearances to combustibles as specified in the installation manual. The blower requires access to a suitable electrical circuit; consult local electrical codes and NEC requirements for proper wiring of the blower motor.
