The ELKHART PRODUCTS WPT-24-24-32 is a wrot copper bullhead tee designed for sweat-solder copper piping systems. The bullhead configuration features a 2-inch run outlet on the branch, with 1-1/2-inch connections on the run ends, allowing flow from a larger branch into a smaller main — a layout commonly used in supply manifolds, hydronic distribution, and domestic water piping. All three connections are C x C x C (cup-by-cup-by-cup) solder-type ends. This fitting is machined from wrot copper, which provides a refined grain structure well-suited to pressure piping service. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting on copper water and fluid distribution systems in residential and light commercial construction.
This bullhead tee fits into copper piping systems where the branch diameter exceeds the run diameter. Typical applications include primary-secondary hydronic loops, domestic hot and cold water distribution headers, and recirculation systems where flow balancing requires a larger-diameter branch takeoff. The solder-joint ends conform to standard ASME B16.22 wrot copper fitting dimensions, making this fitting compatible with standard copper tubing of the specified sizes. Installation is performed by licensed plumbing contractors following local plumbing codes and ASTM B88 copper tube standards.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper solder fitting compatible with standard copper water tube in 1-1/2-inch and 2-inch sizes per ASTM B88.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water system and drain the affected lines before cutting in the fitting. Clean all tube ends and fitting cups with emery cloth and apply flux before soldering per ASTM B828 procedure. Do not apply heat directly to the fitting body for extended periods — heat the tube near the cup to draw solder into the joint.
