The ELKHART PRODUCTS WPT-24-24-20 is a wrot copper reducing tee designed for sweat-solder copper pipe systems. It connects a 1-1/2 inch run on both ends to a 1-1/4 inch branch outlet, using a C x C x C (cup by cup by cup) configuration. Wrot copper fittings are formed from wrought copper stock, giving them a dense, consistent grain structure well suited to pressure-rated plumbing and hydronic applications. The solder joint connection type requires standard 95-5 or lead-free solder and flux per local code. This fitting weighs 0.457 pounds and is a stock component for licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on residential or light commercial water distribution lines.
This reducing tee is used wherever a copper water supply or hydronic system requires a branch takeoff at a reduced diameter. Typical applications include domestic hot and cold water distribution, hydronic heating piping, and recirculation loops where a 1-1/4 inch branch is needed off a 1-1/2 inch main. The wrot construction and solder-joint design make it appropriate for systems operating under normal residential and light commercial working pressures and temperatures.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper fitting for use with standard 1-1/2 inch and 1-1/4 inch copper tube in Type K, L, or M copper piping systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following IPC or applicable local plumbing code. Shut off and drain the water supply completely before cutting into any existing line. Clean all tube ends and cup sockets with emery cloth and apply lead-free flux before soldering. Do not apply flame directly to the fitting body longer than necessary to draw solder, as overheating can damage the joint.
