The ELKHART PRODUCTS WPT-24-24-12 is a wrot copper reducing tee designed for sweat-solder copper piping systems. It connects a 1-1/2 inch run with a reduced 3/4 inch branch outlet, all via standard C x C x C (copper-to-copper) solder-cup connections. Wrot copper fittings are wrought from solid copper stock, which produces a denser, more uniform material than cast fittings and is well-suited for pressure piping applications. At 0.332 pounds, this compact fitting is a standard component in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting where a main copper line must reduce to a smaller branch takeoff.
This reducing tee fits into any system built on copper sweat piping, including domestic hot and cold water supply, hydronic heating distribution, and light commercial plumbing rough-in work. The 1-1/2 inch run size is common in main distribution lines, while the 3/4 inch branch outlet is typical for individual fixture or zone feeds. The fitting is suited to both new construction and retrofit applications where an existing copper run needs a reduced branch connection added.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock fitting for copper sweat piping systems using 1-1/2 inch and 3/4 inch nominal pipe sizes.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and drain the water supply before cutting into any existing copper line. Clean all pipe ends and fitting cups thoroughly with emery cloth and apply flux before soldering to ensure a leak-free joint. Do not overheat the fitting during soldering, as excessive heat can damage the copper and compromise the joint integrity.
