The ELKHART PRODUCTS WP4-2-16 is a 1-inch WROT copper male street adapter designed for solder-type connections in residential and commercial plumbing systems. It transitions between a fitting-end (FTG) inlet and a male-threaded outlet, allowing it to thread directly into a female-threaded fitting without a separate coupling. The adapter is manufactured from WROT copper, which is cold-worked for tighter dimensional tolerances and consistent wall thickness. Licensed plumbers install this fitting as part of copper supply piping assemblies where a male-threaded connection is required at a branch or terminal point.
This adapter is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, and general plumbing rough-in applications where copper-to-threaded transitions are needed. The FTG inlet accepts the pipe end of an adjacent copper fitting directly, making it a standard choice for compact fitting assemblies in tight spaces. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit work in residential and light commercial installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch copper plumbing systems using standard solder-type (sweat) connections and female-threaded receiving fittings.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and depressurize and drain the line before soldering. Use lead-free solder and flux meeting local plumbing code requirements, typically per IPC or applicable state code. Do not apply heat to the fitting while it is under pressure or while flammable materials are present nearby.
