The ELKHART PRODUCTS WP3-16-12 is a wrot copper female reducing adapter designed for sweat solder connections in residential and commercial plumbing systems. It transitions from a 1-inch copper tube on the cup-end side to a 3/4-inch female connection, making it a direct, leak-resistant fitting for reducing line sizes within a copper distribution system. The wrot construction means the fitting is wrought from solid copper rather than cast, resulting in a denser grain structure and tighter dimensional tolerances. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This adapter is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution, and general copper piping applications where a size reduction from 1 inch to 3/4 inch is required. The C x F configuration accepts a copper tube on the sweat cup end and a male-threaded or slip male fitting on the female socket end, giving flexibility in how the fitting terminates into an adjacent assembly. It is appropriate for both new construction rough-in and retrofit service work.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper reducing adapter for standard 1-inch by 3/4-inch copper tube plumbing installations following ASTM and ASME B16.22 dimensional standards for wrought copper fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and applicable local codes. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the affected line before cutting or fitting. Clean all mating tube ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth and apply flux before soldering; follow lead-free solder requirements where potable water is involved. Allow the joint to cool fully before restoring system pressure.
