The ELKHART PRODUCTS WP02-12-06 is a WROT copper reducer bushing used to transition between 3/4-inch and 3/8-inch copper tubing in sweat-soldered plumbing systems. Manufactured from wrought copper, this Model 118 bushing uses an FTG x C (fitting-to-copper) end configuration, allowing it to press into an existing fitting socket on one end while accepting a standard copper tube on the other. At 0.037 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight component suited for tight spaces in residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in or repair work. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This reducer bushing is commonly used in domestic water supply lines, hydronic piping, and refrigeration tubing assemblies where a pipe size reduction is required without adding significant bulk to the assembly. Its wrought copper construction delivers consistent wall thickness and reliable sweat joints when properly fluxed and soldered. Typical applications include branch line reductions, fixture supply connections, and in-wall plumbing repairs where copper-to-copper transitions are standard practice.
Designed as an OEM-style wrought copper reducer bushing for use in standard copper sweat-solder plumbing systems requiring a 3/4-inch to 3/8-inch pipe size transition with FTG x C end connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or fitting. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth, apply lead-free flux, and sweat-solder per local plumbing code requirements, which typically reference ASTM B88 copper tube standards. Do not overheat the fitting, as excessive heat can burn flux and compromise joint integrity.
